Swim and Diving Teams
Every summer, kids ages 5 to 16 compete against other swim clubs in the surrounding area, culminating in an exciting 3-day All Pool Meet.
Overview
The Swim Team competes with other clubs in the Narragansett Swim League. There are 7-8 meets during the month of July on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
There are five age divisions: 8 and under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-16, and boys and girls compete separately.
The Swim Team and Diving Teams are separate. Children can join just one team or both.
The Diving Team meets are scheduled based on availability with other Clubs and coaches.
At the end of the season, there is an exciting All Pool Meet at one pool where all 11 clubs in the league compete over the course of three days. Clubs are divided into two Divisions (based on size), and a trophy is awarded to each Division. The All Pool Meet typically happens the first weekend in August with a diving competition Friday and swimming competitions on Saturday and Sunday.
There is also an end-of-the-season Pizza Party at the SSTC for the Swim and Diving Team members.
Joining the Team
To join a team, a child must be between 5 and 16 and be able to swim.
There is a $20 fee to join, which covers the cost of the end-of-year gift and Pizza Party. Team members are also required to purchase a team swimsuit and cap, with a cost of approximately $40-50.
